What's one thing most people don't know about you?
At my peer review at HubSpot, 100% of the respondents described me as "Empathetic", which is one of HubSpot's core values. However it was my biggest improvement point three years ago at my previous company. Feedback is fuel for me!
What team are you on within Marketing, and what does an average day look like?
I’m on the Japanese marketing team, mainly in charge of improving awareness of HubSpot Japan (PR). Every morning I drop my 1 year old daughter to her daycare before get to the office (I also work remotely from home two days a week). Then I write and publish at least one blog or customer case study article, post on social media, or write a press release and have meeting with journalists if there is any upcoming news. If it’s Wednesday, we have complimentary office lunch on which we can catch up across organization. In the afternoon I have some quick meetings with my peer marketers around the world to discuss global marketing campaigns. I leave the office around 6PM, then go home and enjoy dinner with my family.
When people ask you what it's like to work on HubSpot's Marketing team, how do you describe it?
It’s not just international, it’s global. HubSpot started as an American company, but the company and the team are both working hard to make not only the user experience but the marketing process friendly for non-English languages and non-American cultures. Being part of this attempt is really valuable for my career.
What's something you've worked on recently that you're proud of?
I worked on a global product launch campaign of free Email tools on our free CRM. The update was quite relevant for Japanese market, and as a result of my media relations activities the news was covered in Japanese top tier media outlets.

What team are you on within Marketing, and what does an average day look like?
I work with our Education Partner Program, which helps college and university professors teaching marketing, sales, communications, and entrepreneurship. We currently have 1.300 professors in the program across 60 countries. So, on a typical day, I may speak to up to 4 or 5 different professors - all from different countries, about the great projects they're working on and how we can support them with our HubSpot Academy resources. I'll probably spend the a lot of the afternoon attending meetings - we want to have hundreds of new Education Partners in the program per month, and I'm currently the only one working with all of them, so I like to meet frequently with my esteemed colleagues to think of more efficient ways to scale. I usually go to the gym for about an hour and come back, then brainstorm ways that I can meet my monthly or weekly goals.
When people ask you what it's like to work on HubSpot's Marketing team, how do you describe it?
You're surrounded and supported by so many intelligent and kind people, who all have a great sense of humor.
What's something you've worked on recently that you're proud of?
I recently helped to organize a small dinner at HubSpot's Cambridge offices for all of the professors in our program who were in town for our great INBOUND conferences. Since we have so many professors, it's not common for me to meet face-to-face with them. All of them were so appreciative about what HubSpot has provided for their students, and it was great to see this firsthand.
Anything else you want to add that candidates may want to know?
Internal networking at HubSpot is huge! So, don't be shy to grab coffee or lunch with someone who might be able to give you insight into your new role. That, and don't forget to take full advantage of the Free Books Program!

I practice an alternative therapy which involves channeling energy to cure disease.
What team are you on within Marketing, and what does an average day look like?
I’m on the SEO team of HubSpot scheming with my fellow marketers on how to make our brand omnipresent in your search results. This means we test ideas, execute at scale, measure, and report how things do across the organization where SEO is a priority. We will jump on sales calls, join in team learning talks, or sit in with our product teams to improve HubSpot - the typical day is varied and always filled with challenges, but always the same in one way. We create meaningful change in a breakneck pace while maintaining the freedom for work-life design.
When people ask you what it's like to work on HubSpot's Marketing team, how do you describe it?
There are work environments where people get thrown under the bus, and then there’s HubSpot where you learn, adapt, and thrive together. I took paternity leave the first month at the job after training - this is not a job you have to fear. This is a job you find your true authentic self and bring it to work.
What's something you've worked on recently that you're proud of?
I worked on the launch of ecosystem.hubspot.com which employs dynamic rendering because it was the right thing to do. Cutting edge business problems with cutting edge technical solutions!
