HubSpotters often say the number one reason they like working at HubSpot is how much they learn from the people they're surrounded by. HubSpot is bustling with people at the top of their game - the opportunities to learn, grow, collaborate, and build are endless.
Whether we’re indulging in ice cream on the first day of summer, having pizza on a Thursday, or dialing into virtual mix and mingles, there’s always a reason to enjoy time with your colleagues worldwide. We organize a variety of in-person and virtual events so you never feel too far from meaningful connections with fellow HubSpotters. There's never a shortage of Instagrammable moments.
What work option did you choose and why?
I recently moved to the Netherlands and I picked @remote to provide me with the flexibility of living anywhere in this beautiful country - especially in dreamy Dutch houses in beautiful little towns far from the madding crowd. Plus point - I get to cuddle my three cats in between calls too!
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm a Senior Solutions Engineer with the Nordilux (Nordics + Benelux) presales team working with the sales teams to help our prospects and customers evaluate how HubSpot can help them solve their problems. I spend a lot of time understanding the tech ecosystem of our customers and discovering the challenges/pain points they are looking to mitigate. In an effort to SFTC (solve for the customer) I get to work with our partners and several external products to strategize a complete solution that fits the bill and gets them excited about using HubSpot.
What's one thing you love about the office?
I have had the chance to visit the Amsterdam office a few times and it definitely has the most stunning views of the city from the 27th floor. It also has a corner room with a sofa and comfy seating to enjoy the sunset from!
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
HubSpot gives me a safe space to fail and learn from my failures - often being celebrated for the successes there after. We also take internal mobility and employee development very seriously - I've been able to switch from a sales role to a technical role and even moved from our Singapore office to our Amsterdam office. This has allowed me to grow my career while still being with HubSpot!
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I used to be a part of a professional Improv Comedy troupe back in Singapore.
What work option did you choose and why?
I've been working remotely since 2020 and I miss the community of an office. In my next chapter, I knew I wanted to be @flex, to have the opportunity to find and build community in the office, and also still have the added productivity of home.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm on the Global Data Privacy team as a software engineer. Our team develops features that allow our customers to comply with GDPR and similar compliance regulations. An average day consists of syncing with my team, solo coding time, and sometimes pairing with another engineer. My favorite days are when a group of us are brainstorming and designing new features together.
What's one thing you love about the office?
The people are wonderful. I go in about once a week and it's been awesome to meet locals and other expats. We're a small group and often get lunch together, along with other after-work social outings. Also, the view is absolutely incredible!
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
HubSpot seamlessly blends a high-performance and growth mindset with a strong commitment to work-life balance and empathy, crafting a supportive work environment. This balance not only encourages me to navigate challenges and excel daily but also reflects the ethos among my colleagues. Additionally, the ability to genuinely leave work at the office enhances my focus during work hours. Moreover, our culture of collaboration goes beyond mutual support, embedding kindness into every interaction and elevating our collective accomplishments.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
Before moving from Seattle to Amsterdam, I had a huge board game collection and hosted weekly game nights for years.
What work option did you choose and why?
@flex. I enjoy the flexibility of working from home while also being able to choose when I go into the office for socialization and collaboration.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm on the Customer Success Benelux team. I work with customers that are in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxemburg. I build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with our customers in order to help them realize their full potential, vision, and happiness across their HubSpot journey.
What's one thing you love about the office?
The Amsterdam office is growing! I started in September and it seemed like most people I met were also new to the office. I'm anticipating more newcomers in the next few months which is exciting. You can tell that the people who work in the Amsterdam office really care about organizing social outings so that we all feel more connected (lunches, quarterly offsites, etc.).
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
As a Latina in tech, it's nice to see the emphasis that HubSpot has on DI&B. I joined in September a few days before the start of Hispanic Heritage Month and it was great to see all the activities and workshops the Employee Resource Group (Latinx@HubSpot) had planned across he org globally. It's nice to see that DI&B is something we address and also act on. This focus on ensuring that everyone feels like they belong makes me proud of where I work and the work I do there.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I took the year off to travel the world ahead of starting at HubSpot. I was able to visit 23 countries in 5 different continents.
